Harbour City Bears has released details of next years Bear Essentials Festival, with an appearance by popular US bear DJ Rotten Robbie amongst the highlights.
Bear Essentials 14 – Between the Flags runs during the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival each year and in 2010 celebrates bears, the beach and the Sydney lifestyle.
Kicking of with a launch at the Oxford Hotel on February 25th 2010, the festival this year will be benefiting the charity Inspire, which works with young people to prevent youth suicide.
Bear Essentials 14 will include two dance parties for the first time:
Furball: The Amsterdam Hairy Men Party will be visiting Bear Essentials with a post Mardi Gras parade party at the Clarence Hotel. Furball’s resident DJs from Europe Bramsterdam, Big General and Mike Kelly promise a big party European vibe.
Meanwhile the infamous Underbear Party this year has a beach theme. Party at the Oxford Art Factory in speedos, togs, bathers and swim shorts.
US DJ Rotten Robbie, famous for playing the Lazy Bear pool parties, and Melbourne’s Rob Gilbert (beyond) head the impressive line up of 7 DJs from 5 countires.
“Old favourite” events like the Wet Furr Pool Party, the Harbear Cruise and the daytrip to the Blue Mountains all return for Bear Essentials 14 – Between the Flags.
Now in its 14th year, Bear Essentials is an official Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras event.

Fur Flee is coming! A new host hotel as been booked, and this year we've got the entire hotel! There is bar and restaurant on-site, and complimentary cocktails will also be available in the hospitality suite as part of the run package. And if we do sell out the entire hotel, we'll be hosting a midnight pool party! Only hotel guests are allowed after midnight, so make sure you stay in the host hotel!

Wall-2-Wall Fur Bear Conclave Location:
Detroit, Michigan
This event seems to have taken on a life of it's own, with the cooperation of so many guys and clubs. The various bear groups, all of which are no more than 2 hours from Detroit. This is the continuing effort of the bear community working together in our area. Each group added something to the weekend and by that effort act as emissaries to the rest of the community.
We get a massive turnout and everyone seems to have a good time.
During the weekend there is food, music (combo "Classic House and a 'Rub and Grind' Dance" ) and lots and lots of Bears and "bear-types". Some of the most friendly guys and all down to meet.
